Extra Credit Surface Area/Volume Project
Goal: Calculate the volume of the object
Find a 3 dimensional object that you can bring to school to confirm your work (perhaps a box of tissues, a box of pencils, a roll of paper towels; item can be an empty box).
Steps:
1) Be creative on the naming of your project.
2) On a piece of paper, draw the object that you are measuring. Make sure you clearly mark all the dimensions on the drawing.
3) Define if it is a Chunkie or a Pointie.
4) List all the formulas that you need to use. Make sure you tell me what the formulas are used for (volume, base, surface area).
5) Show ALL the calculations, clearly and neatly.
6) Make sure the answers are neatly identified.
7) Calculations/project due by Monday, May 12th.
