JUNIORS...TIME TO PREPARE!

Juniors, Review Time for the Georgia High School Graduations Tests has begun.  Start attending Learning Links each Tuesday and Thursday for help in various subject areas.  Snacks will be provided and drawings for gift cards for attendance and participation will be held.

Of every 10 students who begin high school in GA....

• Only 7 of them will graduate from high school
• Only 2 of them will graduate from college

In 2006-2007, 71.1% students in GA graduated high school.

81% of Georgia inmates did not earn their High School diploma or GED.

2, 000 Georgia students dropped out before the 9th grade.

WELCOME TO MY BLOG!

I am Ms. Patricia Bohler, the Graduation Coach at Wheeler High School.  My role is to identify students in need of additional support and to work with them to help achieve academic success.  Within this program I provide prevention and intervention strategies for students at risk of grade retention, course failure, Georgia High School Graduation Test (GHSGT)/End of Course Test (EOCT) failure, and/or dropping out of school.  Services may be provided through individual, small group, and whole school intervention and prevention strategies.

Success at school is a cooperative effort with students, parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators.  ATTENDANCE IS KEY! Students who attend school, are on time to class, are prepared for class with assignments, and have a positive attitude greatly increase their ability to achieve success.

NEED ADDITIONAL ACADEMIC SUPPORT? Learning Links is a free tutoring program every Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:30 - 5:00 with transportation home, if needed. Certified teachers are available to assist with homework, review for tests, help with review for GHSGT and EOCTs.  Pick up a registration form in the media center or guidance to register.
