Spring Semester 2008
Welcome back! We have a busy semester in front of us. Our first concert will be on Tuesday, February 5 at 7:30 p.m. Be sure to mark your calendars for this important event.
The GMEA Large Group Performance Evaluation will take place from February 12-14 at McEachern HS. Specific performance times will be announced closer to the event. I will keep you posted on this.
The last fundraiser of the year will be the pizza kit and cookie dough from Southern Fundraising. This will take place from February 5-19. The funds from this will be used to offset costs of guest artists, new equipment, etc.
I look forward to a successful spring semester!

Masquerade Concert
The Masquerade Concert is just a couple days away! I hope each of you has your costume ready! We will have dress rehearsal after school from 3:30-5:00. Dinner will be served from 5:30-6:45. The concert will begin at 7:00. Dinner tickets are $5.00. Raffle tickets are $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00. See you there!

Solo/Ensemble Results
Solo/Ensemble was held on Saturday, October 6 at Awtrey Middle School. The following people received Superior ratings:
Maychee, Megan, Gabe, Thurston, Zac, Amruta, Shejuti, Ahona, Makeda, Renato, Rachel, LeDarion, John, Sophia, Tim, Lisa, Noah, & Andrew.
The following people received the rating of Excellent:
Queenetta-tye, Amanda C., Angela, Lisa, Doug, Amanda O, Megan, & Sam.

September 27 was a good start to the concert season for the Wheeler Orchestras! I believe each of you played well. I see improvement in the orchestra, and I look forward to continued progress as we come together as an orchestra. Keep practicing! Set goals! Be the very best musician you can be!

All State Information
Auditions for All State and Honor Orchestra are going to be held on Saturday, October 27 at Sprayberry High School. The requirements are listed on the GMEA website. Concert
Our first concert of the year is just around the corner on Thursday, September 27th. Remind your student to continue to practice in preparation for the concert.
